A True Alaskan Adventure Story
Suddenly It Spring! eBook Mary T Lovel Kathy Jensen Bud and Cindy Lovel
As soon as I saw the cover photo of this book, I had to order it. Have you watched the TV program - Alaska Railroad? If so, then you have seen Clyde and Mary's house, and that is the house on the cover of the book. The stories of the family's homesteading adventures, and misadventures, over the years lends insight in to what it is really like to live in Alaska the last frontier. That has always been a dream of mine, so at the very least I can live it vicariously through books and stories such as this. I have also bought Mary's first book, but have not started it yet. I am anxious to read that one as well.
This book is a "must read" for anyone who has even the slightest dream of living in Alaska, up to the person who has a concrete plan to make the transition to wilderness life.

Suddenly It Spring! eBook Mary T Lovel Kathy Jensen Bud and Cindy Lovel Reviews
This book seemed like a rescue of her previous book.
Wonderful book, wonderful family, just what I wanted to read. I. Had the privilege of seeing this couple on Railroad Alaska and now was able to read about them๐๐๐๐๐Thanks for sharing your life
Great story about life and survival in Alaska
I read this book after I read Mary's first book, Journey To A Dream. As I was traveling on the train from Denali to Anchorage we passed Mary's little blue house and she waved to us. When told she wrote a book about her years in that house I just had to read it. Then I couldn't wait to read the second one, which was Suddenly It's Spring. It told the rest of the story. I can't believe she had the courage to live the way she did, and bring up children in the wilderness. I totally enjoyed the book and didn't want it to end! My husband also enjoyed it. The hardships she endured were unbelievable, especially when her husband was away working and she was alone with the kids.
Not as great as her first book. I was feeling frustrated with how disjointed this book was put together. Great stories but not in sequence. Really needed an editor to put it all together. However, very stong woman and lived a way of life most people could never live.
Very light read but interesting to those who are interested in how others live. This is a sequel to her first book which was very good. This book has more of the feel of a book thrown together of the bits and pieces left over from the first with a little fresh material . Had I read it first I would not have read her first book. Please remember, this is a book review, not a review of her life which I find amazing.
I loved this book. We took a train ride in late August, 2014 from Denali - Anchorage on the McKinley Explorer and went by Mary & Clyde's Homestead. Our guide on the train talked about this family quite a bit and it was exciting to see their home along the railroad. I had the rail guide and could find the areas that Mary described in the book, and this was great and helped a lot. The book is very well written and you felt like you really knew the family and could visualize the things they did in the book. It was a wonderful book.
